    .32-20 HE

Here are the closest numbers I have recorded: 130146 shipped September 1926 131452 shipped April 1930 132446 shipped August 1927 So, 130954 is probably somewhere in that neighborhood. Shipping was not in serial order (obviously).

    Help identifying SW revolver

With that serial number, it is almost certainly an altered BSR. Truckman's observation does throw a wrinkle into what the alterations actually were. Some sort of barrel replacement or rod replacement is most likely. The barrel has been cut regardless.

    Please help identify...

Your Model 14-3 K-38 Masterpiece, serial number 3K82xx (four digits after the K), is from 1971 (3K1 to 3K31279).

Presentation box .Early post war k22 master piece

I don't know about the box, but it didn't come with that revolver. The K-22 Masterpiece probably left the factory in the autumn of 1947. It is very nice. The stocks are not original, but they are wonderful.

Wow! a whole bunch of S&W snubby threads yesterday......just have to add my S&W pipsqueak to the bunch

Something is amiss here. If it is marked MOD 34, it cannot have a four digit serial number. The .22/32 Kit Gun was well into five digits by 1955. I have one above 32000 that shipped in January 1958 and isn't model marked.

    K-38 info??

Sharp shoulder Magna stocks with the smooth diamond at the screw location. This is an M&P from 1948, but the stocks would be the same for your K-38.

    K-38 info??

K-38 Masterpiece, serial number K45924 almost certainly left the factory in 1948. It is a tapered barrel, narrow rib, five-screw variant. A nice piece! The number on the barrel flat is the serial number, and it will match the one on the butt, the rear face of the cylinder and on the rear edge...

    K38 Masterpiece info

The first K-38 Heavy Masterpiece bore serial number K66222, reflecting a change order issued on August 19, 1948. It shipped on February 4, 1949 (not a special order). The first K-38 Heavy Masterpiece with a target hammer was being prepared for shipment in February 1949, and it bore serial number...

    K38 Masterpiece info

It simply does not say that. It says, "1949: Manufactured a heavy barrel to match the K17 and K32 in weight." That simply means the heavy version was introduced that year. It does not mean the narrow rib, tapered barrel version was replaced by the Heavy Masterpiece in 1949. It wasn't.

    K38 Masterpiece info

It was not "phased out" in 1949. It is possible that demand was waning a bit by 1950, but S&W produced both models until at least late 1952 or 1953. A bunch of the 6" tapered barrels were used up, cut to 5", for the special order from the Missouri State Highway Patrol for 5" Combat Masterpiece...

Can anybody tell me when this 2" revolver was made? It's U. S. Marked but later than victory I believe

    C904260 probably shipped in 1967. C992545, a 2" Model 10-5, shipped in December 1967.

    .32-20 HE

.32-20 number 127612 shipped in May 1927. 128840 shipped on June 27, 1925, BUT that one is a target model chambered for the .32 Long cartridge (yes, it sometimes happened). .32-20, a 6" target model, number 130146 shipped on September 22, 1926. In any case, yours at 128159 probably left the...

    Commercial Victory model

Thanks. Definitely the prewar style. As I mentioned earlier the machined and blued washer is appropriate for that style and time period. Nice! Here's a photo of two S prefix units in my collection, showing the prewar style vs the early postwar style. These two shipped in March and April 1946...

    Ok, so I have a problem…

S873xxx probably left the factory in the first half of 1947, FWIW.

    K38 Masterpiece info

There is a very good chance those GA target stocks were originally on a Combat Magnum.
