I have never owned a 45 revolver. I see in most of the pictures there are moon clips. Are they manditory for the gun to function. If so are they hard to load and unload? Thanks

the 625 mountian gun looks alot like a model 66, are they the same size K-frame? What is a fair price for the 625 in 45 acp. I like the 45 colt but I do not reload for that caliber (might start though I am thinking of getting into SASS cowboy match shooting but that's another thread).

It seems that the 200 grain police load is too heavy for the 38 special. In 357 it might but fun to see what kind of loads could be worked up for it. Does anyone know of any load data?

It is a 4 inch barrel and you are correct I do not use my hand loads for anything but the range, sadly all the law enforcement agencies here (Maricopa County AZ) have gone to semi-autos.

Thanks for all the replys, I live in a typical track home with chalkboard walls ect. The reason I do not want to shoot magnum rounds especially 125 grain loads is that I have heard extended use of the 125 grainers will crack the forcing cone, I am not sure how true this is my dad is a retired...
