    Opinions on the 60 PRO?

I finally got a chance to order my pro 60. One of the online dealers had it @ 609 shipped (no tax) but they've been out of stock for quite a while. Hopefully I'll have it this weekend... I'll come back and post impressions as soon as I have a chance to get some down range.

I really wanted the 7.5" barrel performance center but I found a great deal on a performance center 10.5" barrel. I will say that I'm happy with the long barrel as the weight plus the compensator reduce recoil rather dramatically, it's a lot to hold up and shoot off hand for more than a few...

    New Sport 2 OR

On that trigger... There's an old trick on 1911s to improve trigger pull (reduce pull weight) by "forcing" the hammer/sear to mate properly. I've got a few mil-spec triggers laying around so I decided to try it on my new M&P sport II OR. Executive summary: it worked well. Basically I used a...

Thanks for the suggestions! I have the crimp die already 1/2 turn in from recommended but I agree that it is still not very tight-feeling. I have to put a hella crimp on my .45-70 lever gun as the rounds go in end-to-end and it is WAY harder to push down on the lever.

Freshly baked: 2.160 COAL CCI Large Magnum Rifle Starting at 46gr H110 and will run to 48.0 (max listed is 48.5) Hornady 240gr XTP Mag And, yes, I'm OCD about my brass coming out of the tumbler looking all 24K-like. Yes it is unnecessary and is a waste of time. Yes, I'm going to do it anyway.

Grips for a 29-10 N Square that cover the back strap?

Thanks all. I'm going to give the presentation grips a go. I don't really have big hands so I don't want to go too big and regret it especially with some of the expensive options out there.

Grips for a 29-10 N Square that cover the back strap?

I have taken my .44 mag 6.5" barrel 29 classic out twice now. Once with the factory grips and once with a set of Hogue wood pau ferro checkered wood. In both cases where the upper part of the grip meets the frame, it chewed up the webbing between my thumb and index. I moved my hand down the...

Trying to build the "perfect" nightstand gun for the wife

I have both the 66 3" and the 67 4.25". She prefers the 67 mainly because I've put some smaller grips on it. I am trying to find a 60 pro for a good deal but the best buys online are out of stock. I'll keep looking and when a 60 pro 3" shows up, I'll get that one, too. I'll let her pick the...

What solvent for baked on powder?

I've noticed on several of my revolvers (bead blasted finish) that I can't seem to get the powder off the gun around the forcing cone and at the edges of the cylinder between flutes. The powder is so baked on that even my bottle of hoppes powder solvent only removes it about 70% of the way. My...

Good Lord! How many rounds before you "call it a day"? I suspect I could shoot my 10.5" barrel for a couple hundred rounds or so and not have any major issues. It's like a 44 magnum.

    Most reputable online seller?

Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo often has some of the best prices I can find and they usually ship same day or worst case scenario next day. NGOA often has the best prices I can find on Smith Revolvers and they also ship quickly and their customer service is good, too. I'll add that I've bought...

    Opinions on the 60 PRO?

Thanks all! I'm definitely going to get a 60 3". I just need to decide which one. Still leaning toward the pro, though, as I like that tapered barrel look. I've been watching for one used but they don't seem to come up much. I may have to give up and get one online.

    Opinions on the 60 PRO?

Thanks, yes, I'm referring to the pro series... If the front night sight is more or less worthless, it's down to grips, "pro" improvements, and looks. And on that first one, it appears they are rarer than hen's teeth? I did a quick search and found only one listing on a site called...

    Opinions on the 60 PRO?

I'm seriously considering getting one. The three inch barrel and adjustable sights in a "slightly longer than snubby" appeals to me. But... Is the extra cost worth it? They make a plain model 60 3" also and at this point I feel comfortable messing with the trigger to get it to where I like...
