    Model 53 .22LR Cylinder K446320

I don't think it would be a good idea to chamber a RFM to a Model 53, as the bore diameter is not correct. If it was a safe feature, I'm sure S&W would have done it at the time.

    17-3 red ramp front sight

When I had the R Partridge done in 1984 it cost $1.15 for the insert. WO R/S Slide was $7.75

    17-3 red ramp front sight

Sent a 17-4 in 11/02/84 to S&W for RR, WO and Nickle Plating and was told Baughman R Ramp was no longer available.

Model 53 - 22 Rem Jet questions for shooters

Happened to me once. Needed 3 hands, Push extractor button to release cylinder with right thumb, hold cylinder with left hand so doesn't swing open, tap lightly with plastic or wood mallet.

    Model 48-4 Extra Cylinder Clarification

Model 48 It looks as though your 48 has 3 T's and a Red a Post front sight, I assume the rear sight has a white outline. The front sight is factory installed.

model 53 value with 3 cylinders

.22 Rim Fire Magnum Cylinder Buff, I would like some of the names of the guys that have Model 53's with .22 Rim Fire Magnum cylinders that S&W fitted to them. Anyone can contact S&W and they will find out that they would not do this procedure.

model 53 value with 3 cylinders

Model 53 .22 Magnum The Model 53 was stamped on barrel as .22 Magnum. It came with a magnum cylinder that was chambered for the .22 Remington Center fire Magnum, or called the .22 Jet. It came with 6, .22 LR inserts. You could also get a .22 LR cylinder fitted at the factory. Some revolvers...

    Model 53

Model 53 22 Magnum The 53 bore is .222 like 22 L.R. The Model 48 Bore is .224. The Model 53 is 22 Center Fire Magnum, The Model 48 is 22 Rimfire Magnum. The Model 53 was never chambered for 22 Rimfire Magnum with inserts or aux cylinder. If you reload for a 53, you should never load bullets...

    Model 53 package cost?

M 53 I have always liked S&W. Have 2 Model 53's, and do not know about the 22 L.R. cylinder being numbered to the revolver. Perhaps if the cylinder was shipped from the factory with the gun it may be so. Mine both have the 22 cylinder from S&W, and fitted at the factory, but they are not...

    Nickel 17-3 Sells for $11,005.00

Red insert was added at the same time as Nickle, cost $1.75

    Nickel 17-3 Sells for $11,005.00

Nickel 17 I have one of these, all though it did not come from S&W. It was returned to S&W on Nov. 1st 1984 to refinish in Nickel, The invoice is in the box with all papers and tools. The price to refinish was $70.00. All though this no way compares to an original.

    22 Jet 22 cal inserts

53 accuracy A Model 53 with inserts or extra cylinder would be just as accurate as a Model 17, but it might depend on the revolver. I never noticed any difference other than the inserts are a pain to use. They would add to the value.

    My new Model 53

M53 I think the 53 was S&W Greatest. This is my setup.

Will an 18-4 barrel fit on a 18-2 gun?

Barrel I would think changing the sight would be easier than changing the barrel. Drive the pin out, remove sight, put new sight in, install pin. I believe S&W still has the Baughman front sight and pin that would be cheaper than changing the barrel.
