All I know is, for my own personal constitution: Any S&W revolver with hole in left side < a pre-lock in same model.

^^^^^^ +1 for this ^^^^^^ I would try shooting the gun on some type of rest, and try different ammunition before I dived in too deep or made any conclusions.

I used to live in SW Pa & visited Gettysburg a few times. I'd still like to go back again. There are companies that will take you on a tour of the battlefield on horseback; I haven't done it but think that would be the ultimate.
