Here's mine. Made in 1922(if I remember from when I did research) Nickel plated. The grips were butchered and a previous owner put pachmayr grips on it. At some point someone replaced thumb lock. Story is someone carried it in Great Lakes area, so plate is gone in places. I shoot handloads...
I really love the pictures. I will say that I am short and I am what people refer as "a big boned woman." I have carried full size my SS 45 in milt sparks summer special. In winter it's doable. I carry my small kimber ultras cross draw. I like the steel eclipse and how solid it feels. I carry...
Everyone has their dream EDC gun. How are you going to carry it? Do you now shoot .357s? I sold my first .357, a Ruger, because I could not hit the target on my second shot. Now I know, that I can put .38 or .38+P and I am able to control the gun. I can also load shot shell in the first...
I have a 44 Spl from early 20's. The frame number is low 59,000's. It is not a showpiece. It has 6" barrel; maybe an aftermarket nickel plate, blue cylinder release, a bit of very small amount pitting in places and pachmayr grips. I was told it was probably carried in the Michigan marshes.
I...
???
I have been following this thread with interest. I have a couple of questions. When you say right hand, left hand, does that mean one hand or can I support my gun hand with other hand?
I am going to shoot my S&W Ladysmith, Model 60 with 2" barrel. I will be shooting my Kimber Ultra also...
I have a non-talo 686+. It is a sweet shooter. Good size for the house and for the range. I mainly shoot .38s that I reload soft. I also use wadcutters so the holes are nice and pretty.
I also like 44spl. If I could get a 3" .44 I'd pick it up quick. I could think about carrying a 3"...
I will never see NYC again
From a woman's viewpoint, I won't go anywhere I can't protect myself. I have carried even when I wasn't allowed. Won't travel in New York, Illinois is bad enough about the 2nd amendment.
I have a Lady Smith. I pocket carry with it. I like the hammer and would...
I love the gun. Took it and shoot at steel today. Very smooth trigger. I will look at the Lobo Leather holster. I love the beauty of blue steel, but the stainless is great looking and I fell in love with it. Next trip to range I will be shooting paper and I'll how good I am at making holes...
I just bought a 686 with a three inch barrel. The box it came in says it a three inch. But under the crane it is stamped 686-6. I thought the last number was barrel length. Does it mean something else?
I like the gun. Going to try to take it to the range tomorrow and shoot it.
Thanks
I see .45 Long Colt all the time at Cabela's. If you are thinking about learning how to shoot your revolver, it should be a good learning gun. My .44 Special is fun to shoot and is very accurate. It is a good home defense gun while you wait and decide which handguns to buy for you and your...
It does have a "B" in front of barrel number. I don't know what the grip pin or where it would be. The pin that would hold the lanyard on is gone. There is a hole behind the spring.
okay not k-frame
with my glasses cleaned the grips say N frame.
I uploaded(I hope.) some pictures of gun. I am polishing it to make it look like nickel plate. I can't tell if hammer and trigger are plated.
The number on butt is 20838.
