I'm afraid you're going to have to bite the bullet on this one and sorry for the intended pun. Hopefully Smith will repair or replace it at cost and you will be back shooting in short order. I'm certain the Buffalo Bore ammo is not over pressure but the lead free solid copper bullet probably was...
Once I tried one of Mike Venturino's loads that he mentioned in Handloader Magazine I stopped experimenting since more accuracy would require a better shooter. Admittedly I don't shoot any formal bullseye matches and I have plenty of components on hand so I'm sticking with 5.4 grains of...
Lots of good advice already given above and I tend to agree that for optimum performance for all those cartridges you're going to need at least 3 or 4 powders. If you're still wanting to try just one powder for all your calibers check out Blue Dot in your loading manuals. I haven't purchased...
I bought the P210 target a few years ago and it is one of if not the most accurate handgun that I have ever fired. It's not a one load wonder either it just shoots everything well. I considered carrying it as a woods gun but the large thumb safety gets clicked off very easily so a range gun it...
I read Colonel Cooper and as with other writers I agreed with some of his comments and disagreed with others. One that I agreed with was when he mentioned the Ruger 77 MK II in one of his scout rifle articles. Something along the lines of if you don't want a Scout rifle buy a Ruger 77 MK II. It...
I've been collecting Marlin 1894's in 44 magnum for decades. I kept the more rare models but foolishly let the common 20" barrel version go to a friend thinking I could always find another. Then the Remington fiasco hit and prices went out of sight. So when Ruger brought out their version in 44...
I go on an annual bird hunting trip to the northern tip of New Hampshire. We call it bird hunting but it's mostly taking a dog and shotgun for long walks. After a very close encounter with a cow moose and her boyfriend I've been rethinking my woods carry gun. My 3" 60-4 is by far my favorite but...
Welcome from Massachusetts. My wife's family is from Sicily. Agrigento to be precise. Does your work in Lampadusa involve dealing with the flood of African migrants? If so you must be very busy.
I shoot mostly black powder. A jack Garner flintlock Virginia rifle is my favorite. For local bench rest shoots I use a T/C Hawken 54 caliber with a 1-66" round ball twist. I never found cleaning black powder guns difficult unless we're talking cap and ball revolvers. Getting copper out of a...
Like most owners here my 60-4 is my most carried woods gun. It out shoots my rimfire J frames by a wide margin and carries just as easily. I've settled on a hand load of 4.7 grains of Unique with a 158 grain Speer swaged lead SWCHP which seems to meet all my 38 Special needs.
I'm looking for Browning manufactured magazines for a .22 Medalist, Challenger or Nomad. They all use the same 10 round mag. Let me know what you have. Thanks; Mike
I've had good luck finding barrels from Broome Firearms and Corson Barrels. I don't have the contact info right now but they advertise in Gunlist. Of course there's always Google.
