Magger.... Sorry no pic's. I believe your'e right in it being a magnaport job. I checked out their website and the ports & position seem to match. Thanks for the info.

Ran across a nice mountain gun today that made me do a double take. Its a -3 model in 44 mag but it is ported. Can anyone tell me if they ever made such a revolver or not. The ports run along both sides of the front sight blade. I'm pretty sure is an aftermarket job, but just thought I'd check.

I also will have to agree about the 4" model's. I've owned both the 4 and 6 inch models, but the 4 inch models just balance and feel better to me. Needless to say, 6 inch models seem to come and go with me, but my 4 inch 617-1 isnt going anywhere!

Bought a box of regular 38 spl's today and headed to the range. I didnt have much time available but I did get to run 25 rounds through it. Let me start by saying I'm not a revolver man, but have I have shot a few. I much prefer semi's but in fairness, I went and fired the 342 with an open mind...

OK... I give. You guys have convienced me to give this thing a chance. I'm going to buy a box of shells and try this thing out before making a decision on whether I'm going to keep it or not.
