    442 cylinder chamber slop?

Same rounds were used in all 3, I believe flipping it closed is referred to as bogarting and I have never done it. I just find it off that they would be machined differently assuming they are all machines by computers.

    442 cylinder chamber slop?

I have two 442s and a 640. I know this might be viewed as bad practice but if I spin the cylinder with ammunition in it one of the 442s rounds clank around. The other 442 and 640 chambers seem tight and make no noise. Just curious why theres such an inconsistency with the chambers or if it is an...

    gun quality these days!

not trying to stir the pot but dare I say that lower end smiths are getting to charter arms levels of quality? I only say this because I played with a new CA in a shop today and its just as gritty and clunky as my new 442s. I called S&W today and they sent me a shipping label, the lady was quick...

    gun quality these days!

Thanks for the offer but I have quite a few myself! maybe someone else on the forum can use it. I always thought it was strange that a 442 comes in a nice plastic case where the M7P 340 comes in a cardboard box.

    gun quality these days!

Unfortunately the mass majority of gun owners do not know what a quality firearm looks like so the junk that these manufactures are putting out are considered quality to these individuals.

    gun quality these days!

true, but my statement was more or less stating that they are very consistent with their production where as other companies are a hit or miss.

    gun quality these days!

its a shame but it seems like every gun manufacture is headed this direction. Honestly I think glock is the most consistent with their line of pistols, I've never seen one that had bad machining or finish issues

    gun quality these days!

So I just had my LGS order two no lock 442s for me and they came in today. one looked good but the others barrel was slightly mis aligned, there is bad machining on the cylinder housing and there was some finish missing where the barrel meets the frame. I picked it up anyways since we already...

    Funky 640-1

Cleaned her up a little bit, the finish is pretty rough and it has quite a few dings but overall I’m pretty happy.

That’s why I thought it was odd that s&w said it was a 2010. Maybe I’ll call again and talk to a different rep. EDIT: just called again and they said OCT 1995 which would make more sense than 2010. I’m glad to hear that it wasn’t a 2010 made to look older.
