Update, I added a Vortex StrikeFire and a set of 45 degree offset fixed iron sights and it's a lot of fun!! The Vortex seems to be a good Red dot optic and quite accurate!!

I have not had much range time but I need to get more familiar with the AR platform. I've watched quite a few videos on takedown and cleaning which is pretty easy. My question is quite simple, the videos on takedown fail to mention if the gun need to be de cocked "dry fired" first after insuring...

I was at Walmart and saw some 100 round boxes of .223 Rem Federal FMJ 55 grain ammo as well as 150 round boxes of 5.56 American Eagle Ammo. I'm New to the M&P... Any issues with this ammo? Thought I'd ask prior to purchasing a box or two Thanks guys!!
