    Neat little gun show find

I bought a repro knob from Samuel Simmons (hoxycar870 on eBay). It looks good (much better than a screw stuck in the end that it came with). If anyone wants Samuel's contact info, I will gladly share.

    Neat little gun show find

Someone must have put Loctite on my gun, the knob won't budge and I don't want to push it. I can easily copy the outside - does anyone have one out of a gun to tell me the threads and how long the threaded shank is?

    Neat little gun show find

I have 2 of these guns (actually one is on the way) - one with knob and one without. I have a lathe and knurling tool, I am going to try and duplicate the one knob I have. I can grind tools to get the right radii, getting the knurl close may be the issue.

Prvi Partisan ammo safe to shoot in older guns?

I have two M&P's in 38 Special - Target made circa 1921 or so and a 1925. I picked up some Prvi Partisan 38 Special 158 grain SWC that has 902 fps muzzle velocity. I have a third gen SAA it can be shot from, but would love to shoot it out of the older guns as well. Is it too hot?

1905 4th change target headed my way

Looking at blown up pictures, the front doesn't fit perfect.

1905 4th change target headed my way

Serial number is 302377, the grips are not numbered but a perfect fit. Wonder if the grips are original to the gun or not?

1905 4th change target headed my way

Here are a few pics, I have it in hand. It has holster wear (it appears) on the barrel and finish loss on the frame. Action is butter smooth and the trigger pull is definitely lighter than a standard M&P. Looks like it was carried and used some.

1905 4th change target headed my way

I will have a 1905 4th change target coming my way soon, somewhere in the 300,000 serial number range. It has convex no-medallion grips, it's 38 special, and has no "Made in the USA" on the right side of the frame and no S&W crest or other markings on either side of the frame. I am new to the...

    Model 1 second issue help

I shoot CB shorts as well through mine. I generally shoot mine in the backyard every 4th of July (I live in town) and usually put several cylinders through it. Those were robustly made, nothing wrong with shooting it with low pressure ammo every once in a while.

New to me #2 Army made it in today

No, if I can ever find a hammer with an intact spur I will swap hammers back. This makes (3) #2s and (1) # 1 second variation in tipups. This is the nicest #2 I have, the third one is a little less common 5" barrel version and mostly patina colored gun. The # 1 is pretty nice gun, most all of...

I couldn't get the photos to upload from my phone, here are a couple quick pics after changing hammers.

New to me #2 Army made it in today

A few days ago, I commented I had a #2 Army on the way and was looking to fix or replace a hammer with missing spur. It came in today, my first purchase from Morphy's Auctions. I have another #2 that I have had a few years that came to me with the outside cleaned up with a wire brush. I swapped...

No 2 Army with broken hammer tip

I have a No 2 Army on the way to me with the broken hammer tip (the cocking spur) which I understand happened frequently. I bought it because the frame finish was so good and it has a Jinks letter. Also, the roll markings on the cylinder and the barrel are quite good compared to most I see...

My small collection - future values

What has happened in my collecting is that I have moved into two areas specifically, antique guns and Colt Single Action Army. Both require some cash (one of the antiques I am looking for is a slant-breech Sharps percussion, the SAA I would love to have next is a 44-40 Frontier Six Shooter from...

My small collection - future values

In the past few years, I have put together a small representative collection of S & W guns as I come across them. I have a #1 and (2) #2 Armies, a 38 New Departure that is antique, a 1921 I-frame, a couple 1920's M&P's, and my latest gun is a 35 auto. I am at a crossroads of collecting, I need...
