Karl, the shortened end will fit right up to the front of the rear sight and only a tiny bit is visible. When the Fastfire is fitted, you cant see it at all.

Yes Karl, the hole on the right of the image above is OK but you need to drill one near the picatinny slot to match. it's not a big job and the mounts are only $4 each if you mess up.

I just fitted a Fastfire 3 to my Model 41, using a method suggested by a fellow member here NCTexan. The mount you need is a weaver 46 #48046 which has the same profile as the 62 but is much shorter. It only uses 2 of the mounting screws. It needs to be shortened slightly at the end that faces...
