Did you low ball the family out of the collection? I'm guessing you knew what you were looking at and stopped here for a little gloating.
That being said, you may as well get a letter on the Registered Magnum before throwing it on Gunbroker.
Years ago I purchased a pre-War Magnum, it turned out to be a former KCPD gun and the members here assured me it was junk and all but worthless.
As a working law enforcement gun for decades it had been re-blued and well used during its life. It suffered fools in retirement and had a crappy...
I'll go for hoax auction or money laundering for $100 Alex.
I have a feeling some people are using places like GB and fleabay to launder money. How? Post a $300 dollar item and sell it for 10 times it actual value, sell a hundred a year. It's a nice way to sell your ex-husbands guns you got...
When I married my lovely wife 10 years ago she got me a NIB 1970 4"bbl Highway Patrolman for a present. They are some of my all time favorite
SW revolvers. And my all time favorite wife.
I was having random conversation with a buddy of mine who is buying a couple of Mosin-Nagant rifles from me. He has a NIB 27-2, nickle plated 6" bbl revolver in its original blue box, 3T's and still wrapped up. It was inherited from a relative.
I have dibs and need to come up with a price...
I like the whole BBQ gun concept, I have only been to one well dressed guns and beef event, it was a good time and guns only left holsters out behind the corral where the owner had a neat 4 position 100 yd range set up with pistol targets at varying ranges.
A few non-bbq times I've been asked...
I got mine from a retired USAF pilot who took his home, much like yours. He then carried it for many years in a small commercial hip holster so mine has a lot of where on exposed areas and has never been fired.
First, do not fire it for any reason with any ammo if it has an aluminum cylinder...
It is pictured somewhere in your thread on KCPD guns. I fired a few full power 158's and a couple of cylinders of wadcutters to make sure it worked, cleaned it and have been admiring ever since.
It was part of a package with several other guns. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't retail but it was a solid offer since the former owner was a good friend.
If you keep it posted here for long enough, guys will start telling you that you should pay them to take the gun.
Yes, it looks rough and it would not be surprising of they scrubbed the brains off it at some point. Nearly all KCPD Magnums were reblued by the KCPD and re-issued at some point...
I'd be comfortable for half that price. There is a large selection of random plastic/rubber grips from the era. I am a big fan of original grips, I hate buying stuff with the wrong grips.................doesn't mean I won't do it.
6.5 inch guns are another favorite. My Dad had one he bought new in 1955 and used for bullseye and holster carry for many years. I walked in a gun store a few years ago and they had a no-dash and a pre-27 sitting in the cabinet.
I bought both and got a nice deal on the price, that covered...
