What is the most common reason for having difficulty opening the cylinder. It is a flat latch Mdl 36 snub. Thanx.

Have a flat-latch model 36, 1961, box, papers, clean rod, manual, ....even original sales receipt.... Very tough to open the cylinder. Latch is hard to push, and cylinder doesn't open. I've taken the side plate off, cleaned, oiled, etc. no luck. Can parts for this pistol be found...in case I...
