    S&W 500 Penetration--- UNBELIEVABLE Video

I get a kick out of folks who say those test dont' show the true picture. Of course they don't, but they do a couple of things well. They are fun to do. They can show comparitive differences. They can "slow down" the magic of the shooting experience so you can see what is going on for those of...

    Bodyguard - which one?

I've always been a beliver in the theory that if you define your needs (or your question) well enough, it will point to the answer. What do you want this gun to do and for whom? "Current, older" is the IL an issue for you? Can you check out a used revolver? Do you like to buy new...

    Why a S&W?

Guys, we are good to go. They are going for the SW. My specs are: hammerless, lightwieght, under 2", and a 3 finger grip. I can't be the only guy who finds sw modle numbers bizzar, can I? Best as I can tell, I'm looking at a 642 or a 442. I don't want the scadium because I don't need the .357...

    .500 at the Range

I might have missed it, DC, but did or do you use a laser siteing tool? I've got a Wally World $30 bore siter that works well. It gets you close so you can save ammo/time/agravation. I also like it to verify that a gun is still sited before you go hunting. They work well on drill presses also...

    Long term Storage

I've oiled guns and then put them in vacume food storage bags. Seems to work fine. Has anyone else ever used this? Works nicely on long guns too. Lop

    Need a little help

Hi Debbie, Welcome. All gun boards that I've seen have been painfully low on the Fairer sex, so please, stick around a bit. You said you were new to this board, but sounded like you were not new to guns. If this is your first hand gun, you picked a monster to learn with. I did the same thing...

    Other brands of hammerless revolvers?

Ruger makes an LCR Little Carbon Revolver. I've not live fired one, but dry fired on the other day. Very nice trigger. Although the lcr is new and has no track record, Ruger has a quality record. They can had for exatly The same dollars as a sw airwieght hammerless.

    Why a S&W?

man, I was at the lgs today. For exactly the same money they had new airweight hammerless sw and the ruger lcr. Lcr was a little bigger, a little lighter, but the trigger was much nicer. One issue is a problem with the lcr is the lack of a pinky grip. I have a spare houge grip for my 637 that...

    date my model 17 (K22)

Wow, my first thought was "date it? sure, send it over. I'll treat her really nice. I'll get her home by 10 and be the perfect gentleman. Post some pics when you get the chance. Lop

    What does "practicing" mean anyway?

When you do dry fire, put the ammo some place else. When you do sight the gun, concentrate on the front site, not the target. Pull the trigger and don't let that gun move. Not one little bit. Ok if it moves when you release, but when you pull that trigger, don't let it move. Think about what a...

    J frame holster question

In Ga, it is illigal to carry a gun without it being in a holster of some sort. The holster covers the trigger and keeps the gun oriented correctly in your pocket. It would be a poor day if you need your gun, reached in your pocket and only had the barrel to grab because it had shifted 'round...

    Why a S&W?

Hey guys, The range is in my yard, so any time she is up here is a potential shooting day, but as my OP said "just once a season running a hundred rounds thru to keep her hand in it" I think 4 times a year is ok. To say she needs to be here bi-monthly is setting her up to fail. But to say...

    As silly as this sounds...

Hi Nose, I've got a 637. That's the airwieght w/ hammer. Nice shooting gun. I'm not a great shot, but at 25 yards I can plink 8 inch steel plates in SA mode. But really, this gun is a SHTF gun. If the BG is 25 yards away, I'm not going to be shooting him. If I ever need to pull this trigger, it...

    Why a S&W?

Thanks guys, Preaching to the chior. Like I said, I didn't need to be convinced, just wanted all the ammo I could get to talk them into the right gun. What I've got is : Warrenty- no charge shipping both ways Reliablity- SD must be best possible quality Resale- holds value better/increases...

    Why a S&W?

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a logical argument here. I figured you would be as unbiased a crowd. Anyway, I've had a .22 for 20 years, but 3 years ago I was handed Grampas '35 Winnchester mdl 12 (16ga). Well, since then I've put a range in the front yard for pistols, a pidgenput in...
