    M&P 9c vs Shield 9

Wife and I both have 9c's. Choice between the Shield and 9c and it was an easy pick for us - the 9c fits both our hands better and as a result we are more accurate with it. The Shield is certainly smaller for CC but for us the 9c beats out the Shield because it works better for us.

    Looking at a 9c and I don't know why...Update, GOT IT!

My wife and I tried out the Shield and the 9c and for us the 9c was a better fit in the hand. The 9c with the laser is now her daily carry and home defense weapon of choice - the 3913 has been passed on to me as a hand-me-down.:)

    New M&P9c finds a home

I did the first field strip this morning. I'm impressed with the fit and finish, but I have always been a Smith guy. Put the laser grip on and it seems real close to the sight picture. Have to get to the range to just how close it actually shoots. The boss says I have to wait - it's hers and she...

    New M&P9c finds a home

We're on the way home and the wife says "Let's swing by our LGS just for the fun of it". Of course I'm always up for a trip to the candy store. We walk in (with a bag of fresh made apple cider donuts for the owner, a reired LEO and friend we often trade barbs with). We've been looking for a...

Just a quick note to say hello. Retired Army officer, former LEO and longtime S&W wheelgun guy and retired corporate executive (don't ask - I've held more jobs than Carter has pills). Retired from all the "professions" now and doing lots of non-profit work. Have had lots of S&W over the years...

    Model 12-2 questions

As my wife would say, I never sell, just buy. This will stay in the family though the three daughters have shown no interest in firearms - but perhaps the sons-in law... :)

    Model 12-2 questions

Thanks Buff - the magnet hadn't occurred to me but a perfect test. Barrel and cylinder are steel. Back strap is aluminum and I assume the magnet pull I am getting on the side plate is due to the steel springs and mechanisms inside. So steel and aluminum it is! Shawn

    Model 12-2 questions

Thanks 69. Love your name - had a 1968 383 Dodge Charger that was the cat's meow. Never should have sold it. The hemi's were an awesome motor. 1968 sounds about right to me 'cause dad bought it new around that time or a little after. It is a 2" barrel and the blueing isn't worn at all - like I...

    Model 12-2 questions

I inherited a Model 12-2 from my dad, ser # D478XXX. The revolver is in mint condition - I don't think he ever fired it. It feels heavier than an airweight and the barrel does not say it is an airweight. Is this still an aluminum frame? I'm guessing manufacture date between '66-'68 based on what...

Hi folks, Old S&W fan from way back. Have some S&W nines, a Model 29 .357 (my old service revolver) and a Model 12-2 I inherited from my dad. Still prefer my wheel guns to the semis and I shoot a hell of a lot better with the Model 29 than I ever with with any semi auto. Probably just me but it...
