There should be a collar that slides when you engage 4x4. This will be on one front axle or the other. Those can go bad. I don't think new trucks used auto locking hubs anymore.

They didn't say. There wasn't any info when it was returned. I didn't know if water would ruin ammo. All five rounds fired. It's possible my 642 doesn't like BB ammo.

39 of 40 isn't bad. It's the trips for missing parts that really waste time.

My daily carry is a 642. I shot some Buffalo Bore +p through it and had the same thing happen. Turn around time was a week. The BB ammo accidentally went though the washer. In hind sight I probably should have tossed it.:confused:

A sig 238 or 938 would fit the bill.

M&P340. I got a used one for $645.:)

I removed the lock plate but left the lock cylinder. I'll remove it later when I can get a plug. Do I run the risk of the lock cylinder and spring falling inside and jamming up the works?

How would changing a spring void warranty? A spring is a wear part. I could see polishing internals for them to void warranty.

I would take a blued one for M&P340.

I just acquired an M&P340 that has the ugly internal lock. I can remove the lock myself but wondered if there was going to be a hole left in frame. I also heard that a member of this forum made plugs. I haven't shot this one yet but like the feel of it. I would also like to lower the trigger...
