    Smith and Wesson MP9

There are a ton of full sized striker fired polymer framed 9’s available and they are almost all really good. Comes down to personal preference. I love M&P’s and own several. The 2.0 is better than the original. The newer 2.0 models with factory flat faced triggers are better than the hinged...

Strange news about a snake bite.

That sounds serious. I grew up in Kansas so I have been called a Yankee. Hopefully not a snake tho. I have heard of the dreaded invasive Blue State snake that causes much harm when transplanted into non-native areas.

Strange news about a snake bite.

I stepped right past this guy on a trail in Bandelier National Monument (NM) hiking with my two sons a couple weeks ago. I was wearing shorts and hiking boots. He rattled as my right leg swung past him probably a foot away. Luckily the two boys saw and detoured around the trail. An hour later on...

    Bore Snakes

Gotta be careful which end you grab to pull through the bore on that one.

    Bore Snakes

You buy a certain caliber bore snake for $15 and have it for a long time. I have had mine in 45 caliber for at least 10 years. Probably 15. The brush isn’t great but I use a separate brush on a cleaning rod and am not concerned about the brush imbedded in the bore snake. Also I am a tight wad...

    Bore Snakes

I love bore snakes. Sometimes I do a quick lazy cleaning with one a 22. Otherwise I usually use solvent, bronze brushes and a few patches to get the wet gooey stuff out. Then rather than run 15 patches through until one “comes out clean” I run the snake through twice. Especially with pistols or...

A good customer of mine got me again

I had a 78 Rabbit that was orange and I loved that thing. Ran the guts out of it. Could hit 50 in 2nd gear. It was great till I hit an 800 LB cow with it. Still ran fine just had no windshield. Had a couple of bugs also.

My FPC Journey: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Thanks for sharing this. You hear a lot of bad things about the factory. It’s good to hear a positive story about S&W customer service. What a sick feeling to see that bulge. If you would have had a squib load I think you would have noticed and it probably would not have cycled. Glad you have...

Does anybody every wish they had done something else as a career?

My dad was a welder with is own shop. When I was 12 I got paid $.75 / hr to sweep and sort scrap. I work in a tank shop now, but in the office (carpet walker) I started my actual career in the 80’s. I have done production control, project management and mostly purchasing. I have bought...

    PSA for Husbands

Ha ha! I can see that. Also never introduce as your ex-girlfriend. Technically correct. So was my girlfriend. Then I married her. So she’s no longer my girlfriend. No sense of humor

    PSA for Husbands

The right answer is “thank you honey!!! I am sorry I didn’t get to that. That’s a lot, why don’t you go take a long hot bath now.” Buys me an hour to slip out to the shop and reload. 😂

How do you actually enjoy a Magnum caliber revolver?

I have a 686. 90 % of what I shoot are 38 specials. I have a load with 158 grain coated lead with Unique that are probably 1100 fps that are really fun to shoot and smoky! I love em. My full power loads use 158 gr XTP’s with a near max charge of AA9. I shoot them sparingly. I wouldn’t call them...

Thoughts on setting up a steel target range.

Awesome! I hung some AR steel circles like in the picture which caused them to hang at an angle. The holes in mine are round so the square part on the carriage bolt didn’t have anything at all to catch on the keep them from turning. I just had to hold the head with a pair of vice grips. Once you...

    Full size range gun

I think your idea of having a full sized in 9mm for the range is a great one that will help you save on ammo costs and keep round count lower on your edc. I am very partial to the S&W M&P 2.0 line. The metal frame ones are even better but that will stretch your $700 budget especially by the...
