We might be looking at two different sites. I was looking at gunbrocker.com. I found them under semi-auto pistols, Smith and Wesson, and then clicked on the model 4006. I just checked and they have eleven of them listed including a couple performance models.
I've been a proud owner of a S&W 1006 and absoultely love it. I will never part with it ( even if buying ammo puts me in the poor house:eek:) I have added a set of Houge grips to it and it has digested anything and everything I could find without any issues at all, except ammo prices. I do...
SWEET! Nice snag, you wont be disappointed. I have a 1006 too and I absoulutely love it. I found a OWB holster made by Bulldog cases. ITs their molded leather (size large) and my 1006 fits in it pretty nice. I found it at a LGS and picked it up for only $20.00. buldogcases.com. The only...
WOW! What a beauty! Lost out on one on GB just recently that had CT grips and a bunch of extra mags. It went for more than I could scrape up, but I'm still on the hunt for one of my own. Guess I will just have to be patient and keep my eyes peeled.
Good luck and enjoy! I am kinda in the same boat, I'm shopping around for reloading gear myself. Its gonna be an investment but I know in the long run it will pay off. Besides, in time I can work up to "real" loads like the original Norma loadings. Not the "tamer" stuff that most factory...
JDG1006,
WOW! What a deal! IIRC I think I paid aroung $500 for mine brand new way back in 1991. You will not regret it. I absolutely love mine. I have had the chance to fire the Glock 20 and to say the least I was not inpressed (I felt like I was holding a plastic squirt gun). IMHO you...
Thanks to all for the input,
As I had suspected, the only real way to find out if the mag disconect came disabled from the factory or aftermarket, I will have to contact S&W. But then again it may be just one of those factory "hiccups" that got out of the factory without one. Pending the...
Thanks Line Rider,
my buddy and I kinda came up with the same conclusion, really didn't notice any distinguishing marks, so I guess a call to S&W is in order. If nothing else this will at least give us an idea if it was factory or indeed "after market"
A friend of mine has a pair of 1006's (what a lucky guy huh?) and has come across a situation that has both of us kinda stuck. One of them will function(fire) with out a magazine. I know that a stock standard 1006 has a magazine disconect that prevents firing without a mag inserted. The...
Hey Gunny,
I know this isn't much consolation but don't be too hard on yourself. You aren't the first and certainly wont be the last to have that "Dream Gun" slip through the fingers. I missed out on a beauty of a 4006 about a year and a half ago and have been perusing the LGS in my area...
