    1'st Shots 686 Mountain Gun

I started doing these videos basically for my friends so I appreciate the king words. My shooting compadre tried some hot 357 loads thru it and found the VZ grips a little to aggressive.

    1'st Shots 686 Mountain Gun

Here is a 1'st shots video with my new 686 Mountain Gun and it performed flawlessly. I did switch out the grips as I like these VZ better than the Bear Hug grips.

    Mountain Gun

The gap is normal and caused by the frame ball detent lock under the crane.

Bear Hug Grips on the new Mountain Guns

S&Ws customer service is not what it once was. Their assembly line is now made up of hourly paid non gunsmiths while back in the day the employees knew and loved what they were doing. I sent in a 629 for a new front sight bald and a refinish and they had it for 6 months.

    Long Time Grail

Congrats on your promotion and stay safe out there. Policing has changed so much since I retired with the media and politicians being pro criminal and anti police.

Bear Hug Grips on the new Mountain Guns

Lipseys has close ties to Tyler GunWorks hence they specified their Bear Hug grips for the Mountain Guns and I'm sure plenty of buyers love them. I hear the next Mountains Guns will be in 45 Colt and 327 Magnum which will be interesting.

Bear Hug Grips on the new Mountain Guns

I have 2 of the new Mountain Guns a 617 and a 696 and ended up taking the Bear Hug grips off both of them. The top of the left panel was sharp and I could feel it on the joint of my thumb on both my Mountain Guns. A friend bought a 629 MG and the grip panel on his was fitted better and not...

New 686-7 Mountain Gun Trigger Coating Peeling!

S&W quality is nowhere what it once was but glad to see they sent you a new trigger and hopefully this one won't peel.

    S&W 617 Mountain Gun

Made to the range this afternoon and put a 100 rnds thru the new 617 Mountain Gun. It shot fine and I do like the Bear Hug grips after shooting it.

686-7 MG…Couldn’t take the Bear Hugs anymore

I ditched the Bear Hug grips on my 617 Mountain Gun with set of VZ G-10 grips and like them much better.

    S&W 617 Mountain Gun

I find the Bear Hug grips a little thin so I was experimenting with some different ones and think I like the VZ G-10 grips the best so far.

    S&W 617 Mountain Gun

Just got my 617 Mountain Gun and it's a very interesting 22 revolver. It funny how they put the ball joint lockup in the frame and crane like on the 686 Mountain Gun but I'm wondering why on the 22 MG. This has to be a strong lock up but the 629 MG doesn't have it just the traditional lock up...

    22 Mountain Gun

Bought one today off GunBroker for MSRP and will post pictures when I finally take delivery.

    22 Mountain Gun

For those not liking the price S&W could have kept the price down going with Hogue grips. And actually 22 caliber revolvers are more expensive to manufacture then their centerfire brothers.
