Be aware that the Model 19 is not ideal for a lot of .357 magnum loads. Something to consider if you are revolver shopping.

686 / 586 are like peanut butter and jelly of revolvers. Everybody needs one. .357 mag or 38spl. Only choice you need to make is blue or stainless, and how long do you want the barrel.

I've shot .357 from an Airtight J Frame. No way would I carry that combination. The recoil impulse, muzzle blast, flash, sound... You'd be deaf and follow up shots would be very difficult. 38spl+P for me.

Thank you. The 586 is a very fine gun. I’ve been shooting mainly automatics and rifles lately so this one, unfortunately, doesn’t get much use. I appreciate your quick response.

I’ve had this 586 hanging around for a while and always wondered why these grips have a different hue from the rest of my guns. Then I saw a thread about rosewood grips today and wondered what these grips are made of. They do have a bit more reddish tint that the usual grips. Thank you.

Sold For sale is my Smith & Wesson 639. I purchased this new and it has sat largely unused. Comes with the box, all paperwork, tool kit, 2 magazines and an extra set of Pachmayr grips. Never been holstered. My guesstimate on round count is under 500. Asking $750 OBO. Willing to entertain...
