    649-2

I think it would be made in the late 80's and early 90's. My Mom has a 649-2 and she got it in 93. It is a good gun. It does like a 158 grain lead bullets if you can find them. Try some Buffalo Bore if you do not hand load. They are really good guns and fairly accurate. It will become a...

    29-3 Value

The barrel is 6 inches. I did not catch that when I was typing it this morning. I did not get a chance to snap a photo when I was in the shop. I am going to try to make a deal in it. I am in no way going to pay what he wants for it. I was thinking in the 700 to 800 range to start with. I...

    29-3 Value

Hi Guys I found a very nice looking 29-3 in a local pawn shop yesterday. They had a price of 999 on it. The blue finish is in I would say better than 95% condition. It is missing some of the bluing at the tip of its 6 1/2 barrel. It is at the bottom of the barrel. No box or anything. It...

    460V vs 454 Akaskan?

I have the 454 and have shot it a bunch. I do no have a 460. I have shot full house loads out of it. You lose a good bit of velocity with the short barrel. Recoil is subjective. It is stiff but not something you can not learn to manage. I prefer the grips with wood inserts over the rubber...

    Model 60 Grips

Hi I have a model 60 no dash 38 Special. I was thinking of getting a set of Ahrends Boot Grips for it. Any one have any experience with these? Thanks in advance. Marc:cool:

    Ruger redhawk trigger pull

Hi Smith triggers are better. They are different designs for Ruger and Smith. I carry a Model 60 no dash everyday and have other Smiths like a 629-6. I have Rugers as well. I really like the Alaskan series(454 and 45 Colt ) and it is never far away from me every day. If I am going to...

    629-6 Latch Comes Loose

Hi My cylinder latch comes loose and I have to tighten the screw after a few cylinder fulls. Has anyone else experienced this? The gun functions fine. It is very accurate with 270 grain Speer and 240 Grain Hornady. These loads are not really that hot. Just thought I would ask Marc:)

    32-1

I think I should change the question. I like mine. What are your experiences with the gun? Marc

    32-1

HI I have a Model 32-1 J Frame R serial number 38 S&W. It is a real great little gun. I always like to hand load my own ammo if possible. The factory ammo is very weak and I know Buffalo Bore makes ammo in for this at the present time. I was curious what seems to work best for others in...

    Grips on 629-6

HI I have set of Grips ordered from Ahrends. What other grip companies make excellent grips for the 629 round butt? Thanks Marc

    629-6 Box Codes

Hi I have always been curious about codes on the box that came with the gun. Most are easy to figure out. On the Fired Case Enclosed label it has the product number and then after that it has shlcasrv and then CS.S 04-05. I always thought it was some S&W internal codes or something? Just...

    626-6 Strength

Mine has been very good as well. No real problems. I have always been curious about codes on the box that came with the gun. Most are easy to figure out. On the Fired Case Enclosed label it has the product number and then after that it has shlcasrv and then CS.S 04-05. I always thought...
