I appreciate it gents, yes that is exactly what it looks like. It's been shot, when I was a kid this was the first handgun I ever shot. Now that it's been passed to me I plan on shooting it again. I'll stick to standard 38 special rounds. Thanks again for the information

Trying to date my grandpa's 38 special. 6 shot, serial is v190235. "US Navy" stamped on top. Has a lanyard loop, and smooth grips. The rear sight is not adjustable. It's in a little rough condition, I plan on cleaning it up (NOT modifying). My grandpa was in the Pacific in ww2...

For those that have the new grips on and pocket carried before hand, do you still pocket carry now? Looks like it'd be borderline. While I'd love to upgrade the grips, I like to be able to pocket carry more since I can shoot it fine already. Also anybody upgrade thier sights?
