TSA and S&W factory pistol cases?

Will they be ok with the original black hard case that my M&P compact came in?

    .223 reload fears

Thanks for the input. I've watched him make them but I confess I don't really know what I'm looking at. He has cranked out literally thousands of them, so I guess some bad ones slipped through. I just went through the remainder of my supply, giving each a firm double tap on my work bench, and...

    .223 reload fears

I've been shooting a lot of my son in laws reloads. 23.8 grains of Benchmark / 55gr FMJ X-treme. They shoot great, and I can't beat the price, free for X-mas and Birthdays. But I occasionally see one where the bullet is pushed back in the case against the powder. I've caught a handful while...

    M&P Shield 9mm - Can't remove slide

I don't think so. My son in-law has an identical 40c. His is brand new, mine was purchased used. I swapped slides between them and the only combination that had the issue was my slide with my gun. His frame had some minor changes to the rails but it functioned fine with my slide.

    M&P Shield 9mm - Can't remove slide

I'm not sure if this would work on your gun, but I've found that when my 40c slide hangs up, I can free it by lifting the rear of the slide while removing it. I can't tell exactly what is catching on what, but it works every time.

    Florida considers decriminalizing open carry.

House Bill 779 would change the penalties for violations of the state’s ban on open carry — currently a second-degree misdemeanor which carries a $500 fine and up to 60 days in jail — to a $25 noncriminal violation payable to the county clerk. It also shields those with a concealed-carry permit...

    Florida considers decriminalizing open carry.

My point is that HB 779 seems to address an issue that is already legal. My concern was that I'd misinterpreted the existing statute. Thanks for confirming my impression. You would think our lawmakers would have a better understanding of the laws they make.

    Florida considers decriminalizing open carry.

I'm actually confused about this. House Bill 779 will, in addition to decriminalizing O/C, make it ok to briefly expose your gun. However, I have studied handgunlaw.us 790.053 and it states clearly that as long as it is not exposed in an angry or threatening manner, this is not a violation...

Range Report for New M&P40 Compact

I've had my 40c for a few years now. Tried many types of ammo with only one that didn't function perfectly. Ironically, that was "Perfecta" from wal-mart. It failed to feed some 40% of the time. No Exaggeration! Nice shooting by the way.

    Buttstock Recoil Spring Sound

I brushed mine with the same wheel bearing grease I use on the bolt carrier. Quiet as can be, and it lasts a thousand rounds.

Choosing a gun belt for open carry

I got an Uncle Mike's instructors belt so I'd have one for working in the yard or the garage. Something I wouldn't care about ruining. I wear it more than all my others combined. I think it was $20 on Amazon.

    40c Weak Recoil Spring?

They sent me a free striker for my 40c. They asked me what color it was and said mine was an older one. Not sure if it was the design or material that changed. I even told them I got it used.

    40c Weak Recoil Spring?

Thanks for the responses. I didn't really think I was a problem as I've put several hundred rounds through it without a hitch. I just couldn't help thinking the spring was a little weak. I bought it used so I have no idea how many rounds it has fired.

    40c Weak Recoil Spring?

My 40c functions perfectly so this may be a non-issue. But when I do a press check, if I release the slide too gently it doesn't return to battery. If I do it slingshot style and release it, it works fine. A gentle push is all it takes to fix it, but I can't help wondering if I should replace...
