I just picked up a near mint 686-3 four inch (pre-lock) with the original wood grips for $679-no box or papers. Is this a fair price. Also the s/n is BPE4599. Can anyone tell me the year of manufacture?

Has anyone used this ammo. There are some decent prices for purchasing online. I have a 64-2 snubbie revolver

The gun is marked 64-2-bought from a dealer-the s/n is ADP3984. Someone on the forum told me it was a 1983-I don't have a s/n guide.

For some reason, I can find more +p ammo in stock locally than standard 38 spl. I am just going to order a bunch of 38 spl on line. Thanks
