Chris Thanks. Nice rig. I have a Texas Heritage for a 1911. I really like the holster and comfort. But I have a tendency to break those Kydex clips. I may go with leather belt loops. I have a message into Tucker on using leather loops.

Hi Other than the 1/2 inch, is there much difference concealing a 3 inch model 686 like the Talo version, vs. a 2.5 inch 686? I know the grips are a little different. But, what do you think, much difference in ability to conceal?

I have a 4 inch .357 686-4. Can someone who has shot both a 4 inch and a 2.5 inch .357 S&W 686 tell me how the recoil / kick compares between the two of them when using full house .357 mag loads?

I do not reload so I will go with the 180 gr or 200 gr factory loads recommended here. The loads would be used in a 4 inch 686. Thanks for all the input.

Thanks for all the replies on the hard cast bullets. I've seen a few bear while out in the back country, but at a safe distance. I've seen a few pass near the house, mostly in the spring. Bear spray is standard carry equipment.

I contacted TALO about their current 686 plus 3 inch. They told me the only difference between it and a regular 686 plus 3 inch are the wooden grips.
