Stirling.......I agree totally about shooting them with rubber: I have the same ones, but prefer the looks of the Presentation grips over the Hogues. But of course the original stocks win the beauty contest. Regards, Gerry.

That gold badge is outstanding! I commend your Police Department for providing that, and instilling pride in your chosen profession. It's a work of art. Regards, Gerry.

    Bucheimer and Smith & Wesson

Shawn.....I think you're right. I remember those NYPD holsters, and all you could see was the grips of the revolver. Although it holds the 4" very firmly, I now suspect it is designed for a shorter barrel. Not that I was going to use it anyway, since it seems to be for uniform carry.

    Bucheimer and Smith & Wesson

Found this Bucheimer holster at a gun show for $5.00.(Yes, we actually have gun shows in Canada!) It mates up well with the Bucheimer lead-filled sap I carried on the job for thirty years (certainly not authorized for LEO's these days). My Highway Patrolman fits perfectly. I would have liked to...

    King Plain Ramp pinned on?

My apologies to Dan M for using his picture, but his great pre-27 illustrates my question: the Baughman sight appears integral to the King plain ramp, and the ramp appears to be double-pinned to the barrel. Is this correct, and if it is, can someone tell me when the manufacturer began machining...

New pick up Mod 38 airweight need help with ID

I can tell you that the stainless steel cylinder was for more than extra stength. It was to make the piece, which was intended for back-up carry, more corrosion proof when carried against a sweaty body all day everyday by a hard -working State Trooper. Carried a lot, shot only a little...

    North-West Mounted Police revolver

This S&W is displayed in the museum at the restored fort in Fort McLeod, Alberta, Canada. It was an outpost of the North-West Mounted Police in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Did this use an obsolete .44 cartridge, ie. .44 Russian? Can someone discuss the reliability of this model, as an...
