    I am curious about barrel choke and what causes it. The smith told me it is fine to shoot might grab a little lead at times.

    Hi all Purchased a outdoorsman and found a bulge at where the frame and barrel meet, Had a gunsmith look at it was told it was barrel choke? the treads were to large for the the frame is this possible for a pistol mfg in 47-48 and it is fine to shoot. Thanks

    GLL Well I was cleaning barrel tonight seemed to be a lot of lead build up just past the frame and I found a bulge at that point. No trace on the outside. Have to take it to smith and have it checked out. Max did find serial number under star Thanks

    Hi All I am curious it has a very small forcing cone 1/8th of a inch deep than rifling is that the norm. And how many places did thay put the serial number? Mine has one on the butt, on the ejecter rod housing, on the cylinder, and on the inside of the yoke where the cylinder is connected...

    Hi all Just picked up new pistol today, Looking at the book I think it is a 38/44. has a serial number of s706xx Barrel is 41/2" seems to have been cut. sight is different, N frame and heavy. any ideals? Thanks

    Picked up a model 10-5 today s/n d500xxx looks like 1973 Has some markings on the frame under the grips, Curious what thay might be? Same numbers stamped under the model number. Next pic [/IMG] Next pic [/IMG]

    Ordered parts from brownells on line just dropped in place, Ejecter works fine out at the range fired two boxes threw it and its fine. Thanks for the help Guys

    Thanks for the great info. I will contact S&W just to see what thay will do for me. I removed the bad ejector and looked at the nylon plunger looks rough, Thanks Fastbolt

    Well looks like I will take to my gunsmith better have it done by a pro. Is this a common problem with the 5904? I feel like i have taken a bath on this pistol. Thanks for the great help.

    Looks like the ejecter tip is broken off. to the left of the hammer from the back of frame You have to push these down to get the slide back . Thanks John
