Do you use the drill at every cleaning or just once in awhile? Does it cause allot or wear?

    Cleaning 686

I watched Youtube videos on cleaning revolvers and they tend to leave cylinder in gun. I've found it easier to take out the cylinder to clean, while there was Locktite on the yoke screw originally I don't put any on? since I clean allot, never seems loose, any problem with this? I shoot...

    1894c plinking

I am proud new owner Marlin 1894c. Looking for favorite formulas for a plinking load in .357 for this gun. Think I'm gonna stay away for .38 special in this gun for cleaning reasons.

    Primers

I actually have the Lyman and just double checked. Your right they do test with the CCI 550. Its not in the charts but at begining of section. There most accurate load is 17.7 with a CCI550. Little hotter than other manuals. Makes me feel more comfortable trying the 550. I just got more...

    Primers

This is my first batch of 125gr bullets was loading 158gr. I have 2 manuals and web references. Max load is stated at 17 to 17.7. Alliant's website says 17.5. I thought starting at 15 was not to out of line. What do you recommend?

    Primers

Fairly new to loading. I'm making a batch of .357 with 15g Alliant 2400, CCI 500 Primers and 125gr jacketed. Load manuals call for small pistol primers. I'm almost out of the CCI 500 but have 1000 1.5 Remington’s small pistol and 1000 CCI 550 magnums. The Remington’s say not to use on...

    686+ extraction probems

Exact same issue happened to me. Been shoot mostly .38. Shine a small flashlight in the cylinder and you'll see a black ring where the shorter .38 end. I soaked mine overnight in Hoppes and used a .40 brush (little larger) to scrub it out. I have since ordered chamber brushes from brownells...

    686 .357 stuck

Ordered the chamber brushes but picked up .40 brush. Let it soak overnight in #9 then scrubed it w/ .40 brush. Still had the rings. Let it sit anouther half day and and again. Finally is clean. From now on just have to stay on top of it. Being a newbee I think I babied it to much with...

    686 .357 stuck

Bought 686 new 5 months ago. Been shooting mostly .38s handloads. Today tried shooting .357 both factory and handloads. All the brass got stuck in the barrel and had to be push out with a cleaning rod. Even though I've been vigilent (I thought) with cleaning looks like a ring built up in...

    .38 & .357 best powder

Didn't mean to limit myself to one. Looking for the best for .357, .38 and .38 +p, which could be two. I think my best bet is to get a pound each of top recommended here and shoot them side by side.

    .38 & .357 best powder

New to reloading and have done been successfully using Hodgdon hp-38 powder to load only .38 Special. While it’s been working fine, I bought this because it was what the sales clerk recommended at the time of my loading equipment purchase. What are good recommendations for powder used...

    +p and bullets

I'm new to reloading and have successfully done few hundred rounds of .38 special with Hodgdon hp-38 powder. Using Lee turret classic press. I bought Oregon Trail Laser-Cast Bullets 158 Gr. which are non-jacketed (thats all that was on the shelf). I wanted to do some +p loads and then .357...
