    642-1 chipped breech face?

I checked the chambers and didn't see anything different. The only thing I noticed was the breech face.

    642-1 chipped breech face?

I didn't keep a casing but did notice one with a dirtier head than the others. I assumed it was primer blowback. It probably is recoil shield or bushing erosion.

    642-1 chipped breech face?

I shot with my 642 today for practice. I ran 50 rds of Tulammo 130 gr fmj steelcase rounds. The gun ran fine and I poked the cases out since they were sticky. I got home and noticed a bit of chipping near and on the firing pin bushing. Has anyone had this happen before? This is the oddest thing...

    Any Ruger MKII fans

I don't have a mkii, but I have a Ruger standard from 1971 my grandad bought new at k-mart back when they sold handguns. It was the first handgun I shot and it's one of the best shooting handguns I own.

How many of you have 38 special revolvers

I've owned my fair share of Smith K-frames and a few J-frames. My only .38 revolver is my 1974 10-5 square butt with a 2" barrel. It shoots great and is one of the best shooting revolvers I have owned. Shooting .38 specials out of my .357 stainless Ruger Blackhawk is fun too.

    Mauser HSC in 32acp

Thank you. I will look at those. I thought it had to be something to be either with the SA sear or disconnector. I've looked up the issue with mine and never found any threads online about this issue.

    Mauser HSC in 32acp

I got this Mauser HSC to get back into collecting older firearms(most of my stuff is newer). My understanding is it was made during the French occupation in Germany (based on the RW stamp on the left of the trigger guard) which dates my pistol to 1945-46). Mine is blued(not as nice as older...

    Which .40 to buy??

While I have not owned a 3rd gen auto in .40, I have owned the M&P 40c and the Px4 Storm in .40(full size). For me, they were both great to shoot and recoil was not bad at all. The Px4 handles recoil really well and the M&P recoil is not as bad as one would think for a compact. I bet the 4006...

    My favorite handguns are......

My favorite shooter is my 15-3 in nickel with standard magnas. Using 158 grain LRN pills makes this thing tight and fun to shoot. I've always liked the sights on it also.

What Do You Folks Think About Heritage Rough Rider Single Six Revolvers?

I had my Heritage rough rider for 12 years and put countless rounds through it. I mean bricks and bricks of .22lr at a time. The only part to fail after 12 years is the mainspring. The mainspring replacement was only 12 bucks on ebay and I put it back in myself. I say it's a pretty good revolver...

The ULTIMATE K-38 Combat Masterpiece thread. Serial # database

    S&W 15-3 in nickel serial # 13K8380 (1977)
  13. mclovinuga

Finally, a 15-3 for me too.

15-3 in nickel is what I just got. I haven't taken it to range and can't wait to shoot it. Serial is 13K3830 and I wonder when it was made. I called S&W customer service and they said 1982, but it's a -3 and if the OP's -3 is 18Kxxxx, then mine can't be shipped in 1982 unless it was older stock...
