I do not have the original grips---but I agree with you. It has been shot but not much--I have "A" box--not original--but period correct. Has original Model 36 paperwork.
Don't know where to carry it unless it was WELL concealed! Not sure I can stand the conversations--:)

In another thread, I posted this picture. I now have the LETTER. Mr. Jinks calls it a "Special Variation"--sent for plating before shipment. Anybody seen anything like this before? I bought just because it was different.
ANY IDEAS ON THIS ONE???
Found this in a local gun shop. Allegedly refinished by S& W. Already invested in the letter. Waiting on it! Just really strange looking---had to have it.

I bought this as a shooter rather than a collector.
I believe it to be a heavily modified .455 HE Model II.
It is now .45 LC--work was expertly done and the action is SLICK.
I have asked for the letter just for information.
