    Model 57 -0

Do you use mineral spirits on both the inside and outside ? I know that most cleaners are for carbon dissolving not grease so I can see where mineral spirits would do the job. I have heard that petroleum cleaners can soak into nickel over time and leave a color change, Kind of like what you...

    Mod 65-2 bobbed

Here is another one out of the safe. It is a Mod 65-2 (7D57334) recessed but not pinned and with a factory bobbed hammer. I believe it was US Customs but doesn't quite make the numbers in S&W Catalog as customs gun They seem to be 65-3 model. I wondering if anyone has any info to verify my belief.

    Model 57 -0

Just picked up a nickel model 57 no dash (Ser # N6331xx) this past weekend on a trade from a friend. This gun is factory fired only and in box. The action is about as stiff as I have ever seen. I would like a few gunsmiths names around the Alabama area so I can get it cleaned. Also I would like...

    M29-2 Nickel 4 inch

Bought a 29-2 at the gun show today for 1100, not as good as the poster who got his at the Estate sale for 600, but all aren't lucky all of the time. Still I think it was a fair price. Previous owner stated it had never been fired, I know the Factory does fire them for function test and it looks...

Bought a K 22 Masterpiece at a local gunshow couple of months ago and was hoping I could figure out the DoM by the serial number. Google hasn't been friendly on this search. So now turning to the experts here. The serial number is K 98835 (not paranoid). Also would like to know when S&W...

Bullet Drops Inside Case When Seating

I have always used Lee Dies and had wonderful results with them, I also have 2 reloading manuals (Lyman and Hornady) and always open them to what I am reloading. You may think that reading the manuals after 2 years of reloading is dumb but I can catch the mistakes before I run them through, If...
