If you go to the last page of the Ultimate 19/66 Combat Magnum Thread, about mid way you will see my 66 no dash, 2.5", with SS rear sights, and a letter from S&W stating that the SS rear sight and RR front sight are correct for this gun.

After all the comments it seems that the SS rear sight with the RR front sight on the 2.5" snubie is pretty rare, but there should be more out there. I would love to see some pictures of some others.

After hearing from everyone on the model 66, I think that I have a special little snubie with correct SS rear sights, and that it is probably one of only a few. It's going to be staying with me for quite some time. I am really glad that I decided to get a letter on this gun.

Where is the best place to retire? My wife and I live in Minnesota, which is a high tax state, and it's time for us to find a place to live out our golden years that will not suck up all of our money in taxes. I would like to buy enough land to be able to do some target shooting, and of course...

I Think that you are right. In the letter for the gun they state that the RR front sight was an option.
