While trolling a LGS I came across a 28-2 that had been fitted with a 29 barrel and cylinder. The seller said, rightly or wrongly that the conversion was done at the factory when 29s were in high demand and short supply.
Does anyone know anything about these conversions. The one I saw had a...
Thanks for the explanation. Truth be known,it's not an issue when firing any of them. I only noticed it occurring after a disassembly and deep cleaning of a well used 5906 that I bought and initially thought it was worn beyond limits but then I discovered all my 39 and 59 series guns will do it...
I have a couple of 1st and 3rd gen 39s and 59s that all seem to share a common feature with their triggers.
If I do not fully release the trigger after firing a shot it would appear that there is an intermediate reset that will, if the trigger is pulled again, only cock the hammer about half way...
I have a similar problem with my like new 39-2. It hates Blazer Brass and choke on every other round. Other ammo appears to work fine. I have replaced the extractor spring, a cheap and fairly easy job. This has helped slightly with the BB ammo.
I still need to address another issue and that's...
Another issue came up yesterday regards my Hunter Supply 255gr bullets. If I did choose to load them into 45 ACP cases how deep should I set them?
Using the crimp line on the bullet would set them fairly deep, almost half the case. I could set them to the same depth as my 200gr SWCs that I load...
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Looks like I will have a go at loading these heavy weights once l decide how much powder to start with. My current powder in Unique.
I may even start shooting pins at my local range in which case this bullet would give me all the hitting power I need...
I inadvertently ordered some Hunters Supply 255gr LSWC when I should have ordered 200gr. I'm new to reloading and want to reload 45 ACP for a 6" 25-2. I can't find load data for these cannon ball sized bullets.
Is it worth trying to find data for this bullet or should I count my losses and...
Generally I don't care for commemorative guns however today I was given the opportunity to purchase a beautiful 29-3 Elmer Keith commemorative with ivory grips and wooden presentation box.
The box is missing the key and any paper work but the gun is absolutely spot less with no sign of a turn...
