Rough exterior 41/ ? new finish

You've got one of my dream projects there! I have a pristine blued 5" m41 and its wicked accurate but I've always wanted a "field" 41 such as you're getting. A barrel threaded for a suppressor and a durable finish. It's such a pretty blued gun, but I think it would look pretty good in hard...

If you could improve a Dillon...........

I've done the micrometer powder adjustment mod. At a bare minimum it saves a ton of headache when dialing in a powder adjustment. I bought mine from Uniquetek (great people!) and they have an Excel spreadsheet you can use to model the powder charges and get an exact charge with a micrometer...

If you could improve a Dillon...........

I would agree with the OP about the 650 priming setup, it leaves a lot to be desired. The SDB had a superior priming setup; I only had large pistol primer guns when I had a SDB, so I never had to change the priming to small, but it's a nuisance on the 650, even with a complete small/large...

Downloading 44 Magnum to 44 Special

I concur with the previous poster urging caution -- to the point where I don't even bother loading sub-minimum magnum loads (aka, heavy special) anymore. I load specials in special cases, and magnums in magnum cases. I suppose a careful person, with the aid of a chronograph, caution and a...

Experience with Wolf primers -- large pistol especially?

Thanks for the feedback. I sort of feel like I should have asked about the Remingtons now. I've never used them, but somehow they seem like a known quantity. I still have about 7000 Federals left, but I've run down my ammo supply quite a bit waiting for bullets and hoping to come across more...

Experience with Wolf primers -- large pistol especially?

I made what I thought would be a futile trip for large pistol primers and was surprised to walk way with a couple thousand. I mostly buy Federal but occasionally pick up Winchesters for my .50AE and will use them up in other calibers, too, from time to time. Today I came home with 1k...

.357 Mag 125gr Montana Gold JHP & Power Pistol

I ended up loading a batch of a 100 with 8.6gr Power Pistol and it was a decent load -- grouped well and shot pretty much exactly to point of aim, cases ejected smoothly with no sticking. And it seemed a fairly stout load as well; noticeably heavier than the Glock 17 throwing 115gr JHPs behind...

    Wheel weight score!

It's too bad there's not a simple way to jacket them. Even at 4x pricing, $40/1000 for 240gr JSP/JHP sounds nice.

.357 Mag 125gr Montana Gold JHP & Power Pistol

Any powder weight suggestions? Yes, there are probably better powder choices but the current component market doesn't make it easy to pick up random pounds of powder and I have 6+ lbs. of Power Pistol on hand. The gun in question is a K-frame 4" Model 66-2. Speer #13 lists 9.5-10.5 for all 4...

    primers

My local reloading shop owner claims that most reloading components from the major players (Federal, Remington, Winchester) are basically overages from ammunition loading. Cases, bullets & primer components generally are leftovers or intentional overproduction from the primary line of business...
