I tried HS6 in 45 Colt with 250 grain powder coated semi wadcutter bullets (.454") from Bang and Clang LLC recently. It gave 845 FPS and was fairly clean. I was hoping for a velocity decrease from 7.0 grains of Unique which also logged around 850 FPS so it was not a successful experiment.
That show in Bryan may have some good stuff. I went to one around La Grange , TX (It was not in La Grange but near there) and I got some unopened Hercules powder for $30 a can from a guy. You need to keep your mind open and eyes open because you never know what you will find!
I bought a box of Magtech 32 S&W ammo recently. Most of the gun stores around here have it on the shelf. Apparently it does not sell because the dealers still own it.
I agree. I have been reloading 45 ACP since the 1980's. I used Bullseye because it was cheap and accurate but at the same time it was very dirty especially with lubed lead bullets. I tried W231 and Unique - wow what a difference!
I bought something like 2000 bullets from a guy I met in...
I shot a friend's new S&W 500 revolver in 2016 at an outdoor range. The range had shade over the firing line and I am pretty tall (6'5") and when I shot the revolver the first time the front sight stuck in the wood above me. So that's it, one shot. The recoil was fairly stout but manageable. His...
I think if the finish were original the hammer , trigger and ejector would be color case hardened. That being said the finish work looks very impressive.
I don't have any modern ammo for it. All of my 22 WRF is lead bullet either Winchester or Remington. I have maybe 2500 rounds so plenty for this one. I will look for the right grips on eBay thanks!
According to Wikipedia these had hard rubber grips initially and the question is which ones? There are some on eBay with a thumb rest on the LH grip panel - are those correct?
I bought a 1911 made Colt Police Positive in 22 WRF today. It is a pretty thing, just a little wear by the muzzle on either side of the barrel. The hammer and trigger are the Colt fire blue which is pretty awesome. The stocks on it bother me, they are fake pearl "MOTS" - need to know what is...
As a revolver collector I don't see the release of the "new Python" or the "classic" S&W as having any effect. The new ones are significantly different from the old ones. In the case of the Colt Python it is a completely different revolver. In the case of the Smith & Wesson the stocks are crappy...
