    Why do I have a 617?

My 6" no dash is my favorite gun. Might a 4" barrel be lighter? Might 10 shots be more fun? Maybe, but I am happy with what I have. Boat anchor? Not really.

    17 or 15 round Mec-Gar for 5906 family

cpeblue, Is the black colored magazine a 17 round? Just wondering if that is the reason it is wider at the top?

    17 or 15 round Mec-Gar for 5906 family

Thanks deanodog. I had been planning on buying mec-gar mags, the questions was more on the 15 round vs the 17 round. Specifically, I would like to just go with the 17 round mags unless there is any question on the reliability. I am guessing given mec-gar's reputation that the 17 round mags...

    17 or 15 round Mec-Gar for 5906 family

Anybody have any feedback on the 17 round mec-gar magazines. Just picked up a 5926 from iammo and need a few spare magazines. I am somewhat inclined to go with the 15 round magazines because that was what was originally designed for the gun. That being said, if the 17 round mags work just as...

Why I feel the M&P40C is best first gun!

I like 9mm. Only thing that tempts me about a 40 is all the range brass I have. I have way more 9mm brass so it is probably a moot point.

Does a sign prempt your right to carry?

As has been mentioned, in MN the property owner has the right to post "no guns". The repercussions are - should they find out you are carrying - they can ask you to leave. If you don't comply they can call the cops and you are faced with a $25 petty misdemeanor for trespass. A person so...

The Shield and other S&W news

My guess is that market research told them that being the smallest wasn't necessarily the biggest concern. I think this will conceal well and also be very pleasant to shoot.

    Please advise... S&W Bodyguard .38 vs S&W 442 vs Taurus 856

You are asking a bunch of S&W fans which to get? 442 of course! That said, if you like the bodygaurd, go for it.

    M&P 9c I'm confused

Not sure where you are hearing about these problems, but I would expect you will receive a perfectly good functioning pistol.

    First S&W .45

I believe they will both feel like a "whole other animal". The M&P will be more similar to the sigma than a 1911, but it has a way easier trigger pull.

    New 629 Classic 5"

Shuz, You know what? I actually have a 5" classic. I asked the salesman what the barrel length was and never measured it. Guess the other one was a 6". I wholeheartedly agree with all of your assessments, a 5" classic has very nice balance and carries quite well. All this time (past 2...

    New 629 Classic 5"

Handled a 5" standard barrel and a 4" Classic - both used - in a gun store recently. I left with the 4" Classic. Just seemed to have better balance and the shorter sight radius was not very noticeable. They didn't have a 5" classic available to try out. The 4" was also in a little better...

    New M&P VTAC 9 & 40

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. It is a method of coating surfaces with thin films. Most likely in this case the substance is the tan coloring that would also provide some sort of protection. Typically the makeup of the coating is very hard, much harder then the steel underneath...

    New from Minnesota

Hello all, I have lurked here a bit and decided to join to see what I could add. I am from MN and have a S&W M&P9 Pro and looking to add more to the collection. Next I have my eye on is a M&P compact, but I haven't decided on 9 or 40..... Thanks, Andy
