    Step up from J-Frame?

I've been reading a lot about all these models, at this point I'm leaning towards either a 2.5" Model 19 or a 2.5" 686+. The 686+ is only 4oz more though? Seems like a no-brainer over the 19 in that case.

    Step up from J-Frame?

Man that Kimber looks nice but $$$$! I've read mixed reviews of Kimber quality, only on the 1911's though.

    Step up from J-Frame?

I've tried to carry semiautos but any position except appendix ends up getting exposed through the day (in my business I absolutely CANNOT be made) and the shape doesn't work for me appendix. A revolver just tucks in perfectly there while any semiauto I've tried just jabs and pokes and is...

    Step up from J-Frame?

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to look into all these options. I would get the hammer bobbed on anything I carry, I don't like the idea of an exposed hammer for appendix either. I love my J-frame, but 50 rounds is the max I can shoot before I'm done for the day. I would like to be...

    Step up from J-Frame?

I've been carrying a 642 appendix for a few years, it's comfortable and easy to conceal, I'm a decent shot with it, and it's been 100% reliable. Lately I've been trying to carry my P30SK to have more capacity with something I shoot far more accurately. It's been incredibly uncomfortable and...

    New Home Defense Pistol

I had a gen4 17 but could never get used to the grip, and was never that accurate with it. I shot my LCP better than the 17. I liked everything else about it, though - and I know others are very accurate with it. Just never gelled with me.

    New Home Defense Pistol

I agree with most of your sentiment! This would be in a quick-access safe, not just on the nightstand, so I'm not concerned about waking up from a nightmare and unloading a mag in the dark before I know what's going on. There are two things that have me leaning back to hi-cap semiauto: 1. My...

    New Home Defense Pistol

9mm is significantly cheaper to practice with as well. Also considering the M&P full size and the Ruger American.

What is the lanyard for and how do you use it?

    New Home Defense Pistol

I've thought about this - but a full-size pistol plus can is almost in bullpup territory.

    New Home Defense Pistol

I'm trying to decide on a new home defense pistol, the "nightstand gun." I decided that I'd like to have more capacity than my 686+ offers so I'm looking at high-capacity semi-autos. Main contenders are the FNX-45 with 15+1 rounds of 45, or the XDM with 19+1 rounds of 9mm. I've never shot a...

J-frame or 686 for truck gun

I hadn't considered humidity. Wouldn't the SS hold up better than aluminum though?

J-frame or 686 for truck gun

I've been thinking about getting another revolver to keep in my truck. Daily carry is a 642 and it's more or less inaccessible while I'm driving and I spend a few hours a day in my truck. I have a 686+ 4" at home and I'm debating getting a 442 or a 2.5" 686+ for this purpose. Benefit of the...

Help me prioritize my Gun Wish List for Fun

Just for fun, how would you prioritize my wish list? Currently have a 4" 686+ for HD and a 642 for carry. Ruger LCP to stick in my pocket when doing yardwork Handgun for my wife, her choice 442 as a back-up carry gun 686+ 2.5" or Governor to keep in my truck Mossberg 500 Mossberg 930 M&P...
