I've got an Allchin S&W Mini STS Scope Mount I'm no longer using - it was the best solution for my Burris Fastfire II on my 6" 686-1 .357 mag revolver. Also fits Jpoint, optima 2000, Leopold, Sig, and other small dot scopes. Aluminum anodized clear to complement the stainless steel.
As an early...
I tried the Weigand like vic3260's photo above, but i felt it put the red-dot too high - As long as Burris doesn't change the hole pattern or the size, the Allchin mount will boresight the Burris II/III a bit better.
The first production run made the Burris Fastfire II look like it was hanging ten (1st photo). Allchin corrected that by making the mount a bit longer (2nd photo).
But threading in the mounting holes wouldn't catch the Burris-provided screws unless I took off the rubberized 0.040" Burris...
Isn't it interesting that Robert Mika's pocket holster is often shown? It's all I use with my 340PD, strong side front pocket. I've got OWB, IWB, and shoulder holsters, too - but I always use Mika's.

That's why I put a Burris Fastfire on my 6" 686-1! But my 4" 686-2 has the original sights. Both have Hogue Monogrips - the wooden grips are tucked away in the boxes.
Anything change in 1.33 years?
Anybody now make a S&W revolver/Burris Fastfire II plate, like the Ruger Mk II plate?
Anybody laid it out in a blueprint (I'm over 55) for a gunsmith?
OK - now that I've got a 686-1M 6" and a 686-2 4", I'll post some photos. But question: why are none of the 6" 686's sporting red dot sights? I'm thinking about a Weigand mount and a Burris Fastfire II for my 56 year-old eyes. If off-topic, I apologize.
Just got it back from being drilled...
My S&W 686-2 arrived with TWO of these beautiful walnut oiled leather bandoliers. Each holds 50 .38 or .357 rounds (25 each side).

They've had ammo in them: case rims have made normal indentations in the leather, but...
