SGAmmo.com has gold dot, golden saber, and ranger ammo at less than $25 box of 50. I think these are all good 9mm self defense rounds, depending on what feeds reliably for you. Sometimes they have government contract overrun ammo at even better prices.

Tried to order from Buds last year, item would not ship, hassled with customer service, wound up canceling my order. Much easier to just deal with my local gun shop. They can order me whatever I could ever want. can inspect and even test fire if there are any concerns.

I have been looking for over a year for a nice one, no luck yet. I am not willing to pay such a premium that people are asking for them. Nothing wrong with -5 or -6 generation in my opinion. Lifetime service policy is a big plus for buying new.

Im in CA as well. No problems when I sent my 686 back for a a repair. Mine was back in 4 weeks, but I had some performance center work done on mine.

I pickup up these at walmart as well. Mild recoil out my my 686, compared to +P golden saber and +p hydrashoks. In my opinion this is just for plinking and disposing of small pests. Ill keep the golden saber around for SD ammo. SG ammo has golden saber for $14 box, just ordered more.

Golden saber in 38+P are a pleasure to shoot out of my 4 inch 686. I am always spot on, managable recoil, very low muzzle flash. These are much more manageable than .357 golden saber. I have been stocking up on this ammo, around $15 box of 25 online.

I keep golden saber or gold dots in my 686, in 38 Special +P.

Ammunition to go is where i buy from. You have to pay for ground shipping, but my orders always ship out within hours during working hours. And they are CA friendly.
