Maybe I was thinking of getting the flip-up caps, but I'm not sure. Does it make a difference on the mounting rings?

I am considering buying a Leupold VX-II scope, 3-9x40, for my 15-22. I haven't actually seen one yet. Does anyone know whether it would require low, medium or high mounting rings?
