Ok you all convinced me I purchased some rust proof bags(not sure the correct term) my question is this , can silica gel bags( the tiny 3 gram packets ) touch metal or will it harm it? I want to put one in each bag.
I will tag along and ask a question. In the barrel extension just past the lugs(closer to bore) there is a crevice where it looks like rust colored foul or rust itself has found . I don’t have rust on any parts of the gun except possible there. Hard to reach to clean. How do we tell if it’s rust...
Thanks Guys, so reading basically it’s possible for Eezox to take off the clear coat because it’s a solvent but Eezox is very good for rust protection both inside and outside the gun(including bore)? Thanks in advance

Storing pistols for a year or two. Wiped them all down with Eezox in the bore as well. Put in Tupperware (close to airtight ) put the guns in silica gun sock and then put 40 grams worth of silica in the Tupperware. Putting it in the basement in a locked closet (no other place). Any thoughts ...
Question, does anyone use it in the bore for long term storage rust protection ? I put Eezox on a bore snake (soaked the Bore snake ) and ran it down the barrel for long term storage . Smart idea or use a different oil ?
