    Model 10-6 rough birthdate please

$450-$550 IMO. Good cosmetic shape and original stocks, but no box or papers. The Model 10 is one of the best, but most common, thirty-eight service guns out there.

    Opinion on Eagle Grips

Those are a little better looking than the usual stuff I've seen from them. Here are a set of Altamont magnas I've since gotten rid of. They were way thinner than factory PC magnas, fit was poor around the top where they met the frame, and they were sharp up there too. The wood grain on these...

    The Beretta M9

The M9/92FS rocks, and it's one of the prettiest semi-auto pistols of all time. I'd prefer if it had a frame mounted safety/decocker, and a slightly thinner grip frame would be appreciated, but all in all it's a time tested, excellent platform. I prefer the classic models with no rail up front -...

    Opinion on Eagle Grips

I find that Altamont grips are too thin, sometimes sharp in the corners, and oftentimes appear somewhat plasticky looking in-person. I personally can't stand their stuff.

Bought my first brand new vehicle. Kinda.

It's a shame that Stellantis/Fiat/Jeep made them change the front-end when they were first starting to sell these over here, because they looked even more like a classic Willys model before.

    Opinion on Eagle Grips

They're not originals, but they look fantastic and feel great IMO. Here's a set of Eagles currently on my Redhawk. Worth every penny.

Just Purchased The S&W Model 19 Carry Comp Moss Limited Edition

I can always appreciate more no-lock frames, but I can't say I'm a fan of Cerakote or this particular color scheme. It reminds me of Shrek.

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Most folks that disliked the M9 in service were used to shooting the absolutely clapped out, beat-to-**** examples the military continued to field well into the new millennium and onward IMO. The military's third-party magazines causing malfunctions, and over-pressure proof rounds cracking...

    Vitoonmakers (Ebay) Grips

Sending back to S&W for re-blueing?

I had a thread on this a little while back - there are some nice photo examples of folks that sent their guns into S&W therein. I ended up opting not to reblue my gun. The cosmetic wear ended up growing on me. https://smith-wessonforum.com/threads/factory-rebluing-for-a-model-10.624034/

    Taurus 817 - 7-Shot 38 Special Carry Gun

Just announced for the US market. The Taurus 817 is a 7-shot 38 Special. I'm curious how these compare to the size of the Taurus 82 or a standard K-frame S&W. I'd also love for S&W to enter this sort of capacity in this size class. A 7-shot, snub, airweight K-frame in 32 H&R Magnum, or a...

My first revolver, a Model 13-3

Original grips, beautiful cosmetic condition, and a 3" barrel? You did incredibly well! Congratulations; that configuration of the Model 13, and most K-frames in general, is particularly desirable. It's a great example of one of the best balanced carry revolvers ever IMO.

What has happened to QC at Smith and Wesson?

Speaking of messy QC, get a load of this guy's new Mountain Gun. Don't overlook the fact that someone still laser-engraved the L and arrow for the dreaded lock hole either. (Thankfully my new 686+ Mountain Gun was perfect with no defects to speak of.)

    New 686 Mountain gun

They did sort of hint at future caliber options in some interviews on them, something like they were "starting out" with a 44 and 357, IIRC.

Why the Lock-Frame Curvature was Retained on New No-Lock Frames

I'll have to find some better photos on this one of these days, but here's what I've come up with from the internet. The frame re-contour on the lock and post-lock guns has a much shallower curve under the hammer than the deeper curve that the pre-lock guns have. It's most noticeable on the J...
