I have the same rifle and the same issue. There's a threaded hole in the area where I would expect the front swivel to go, don't know what it's for if not for that. Maybe someone here has the answer.

I suppose the only reason for leaving the gun in its current condition is if I plan to sell it, which I don't, or to preserve its value. That leaves an economic reason for leaving it like new. However, the cost of preserving it is $500-$600 to buy another...
