Make sure the new gas block is long enough to cover any pin holes or where the barrel isn't finished. Troy makes a long block if you need it.

Looking for a 2.5" model 19. Let me know what you have and the asking price. One made in 74 would be a plus.

Since my 327 did not have the shield, I decided to call S&W and sure enough it is supposed to have one. The guy said they had to remove the barrel to install so I would have to send it in.

I checked my other scandium frames and my 310 and 325 have the shield but gov does not.

There are about 50 rounds through and there is a tiny line of lead/carbon that scrapes off but doesn't look like a cut. I did find pictures of 327s with barrels like mine that do have a blast shield. Have you gotten any more info from your calls to S&W?
