Who makes some nice grips for a 17 made in 71. I want something like the factory combat grips.

    Unusual 686 plus

I was in a LGS the other day and saw an unusual 686 plus. It had a 5” barrel, fiber optic front sight and smooth target grips with finger grooves. These may not be original. Also it missing the lug under the barrel. It did have the safety lock. I tried an internet search but got nothing. Has...

    629 mountain gun

I recently purchased a 629-4 mountain gun from my father in law. What paperwork came with it? I have a manual, registration card and brochure for aftermarket grips. Am I missing anything? In the correct plastic box too. It’s in very good to excellent condition. What’s it worth? Thanks

    Another 66-2 price check

I agree with what your saying. I thought $800 was high.

    Another 66-2 price check

Before the holidays I purchased several firearms from my father in law. One was a 66-2 6" in excellent condition but no box or papers. He picked it up some time ago at a gun show. It has been shot but I'm guessing very little. It has a faint turn line and powder marks on the front of the...

    Is this a model 17?

Alan The serial numbers are hard to read. Just like you described it was hard to read without a magnifying lens. I will have to ask to see the revolver again and study the rear sight.

    Is this a model 17?

My neighbor inherited this revolver from his father recently. I was hoping someone could tell me when it was born. It's a .22 lr with 6" barrel and adjustable sights. The serial number is 686821. There is not a letter K before the number. I read somewhere that model 17's made before the mid...

    Price check

I think I will make an offer on all 3. They are such great guns. I'm not sure what I will do with them as far as sell them or keep them. The first thing I plan on doing is shoot the two 4" guns before deciding. I've never owned a 4" magnum revolver. Thinking about saving the 66 as an heirloom...

    Price check

My father in law just showed me the following 3 revolvers yesterday he has decided to part with. I don't have any pics but will describe them the best I can. He bought them all used sometime ago. Unknown round count. He never shot them but they have been shot. I would like opinions as to their...
