    Old man learns new trick

It has been mentioned, but I will add a second voice on this. The "under the grips behind the trigger guard" strap will interfere with the drawing grip. The strap should go over the hammer so that you get a full and proper grip for the draw. Otherwise, those are some great looking holsters...

    Two tone CS40

Went in to my local pawn shop the other day and did a quick walk by the used guns. Lying there was a CS-45! It was tagged $625, marked down to $499.... Hmm. says I, they don't know what they have. Write it up, says I. Well, only one mag, they say, and take it down to $400...I left skid...

    The Sigma Holy Trinity

I picked up a SW9VE at a pawn shop for around $250. Since my pistol shooting training was with DAO revolvers, the heavy pull on the SW9 was not a problem. I did later add an Apex kit to lighten it up a bit.

    32 Regulation Police?

I lucked out and picked up an almost as-new .32 RP at a pawn shop 4-5 years ago. They didn't know what they had and had it marked at $350. I left skid marks getting it to the checkout counter. When I got home, my SCSW4th suggest a value of up to1K! A couple of weeks later I saw another one...

    S&W Model 5906 9mm Pistol

AL DPS issued 5906s in 1986 to replace the SW M-19 .357s. Troopers were allowed to continue to carry the 19s if they did not wish to transition to the 9mm. I carried my 5906 for 10 years before retiring.

    The oldest firearm you have

1893 Turk Mauser made in 1894, GEW 98 Mauser 8mm from 1917, S&W Regulation Police .32 revolver from 1924, S&W .32 Hand Ejector from 1928, S&W 32-20 Hand Ejector from 1922. All are fully functional and fun to shoot!

    S&W SD9VE, it was a bargain

I have the SW9VE version. The main complaint you find with these is that the trigger pull is more like a double action revolver than a striker fired pistol. If you want you can easily add an Apex trigger kit to it to lower the weight of the trigger pull. As others have said, they are...

    Seecamp 32

There are several ammo makers who produce 60gr HP. I've had good luck with Gold Dot and PMC Bronze. Silvertips are hard to find.

If guns could talk what would yours say

I have two 8mm Mausers, one Turk and one German, that are over 100 years old and still serviceable. Also two S&W 32 Hand Ejectors, one of which is a Regulation Police, that are over 100. If they could talk, indeed...

Need info on a .32-20 Spanish S&W clone

.32 vs 32-20 With regards to your last question, a .32 revolver would be chambered in .32 S&W Short, or .32 S&W Long. Neither of these would correctly fit in a 32-20 chamber, nor fire from a 32-20, and a 32-20 round would not fit at all in a .32 caliber revolver. The original 32 short and the...

Need info on a .32-20 Spanish S&W clone

32-20, 32 WCF, and 32 Winchester are all different ways of saying the same thing. There are versions made to be shot in rifles only, with higher chamber pressures and bullet velocity. The rifle load will chamber and fire in a revolver, but it is not recommended, and could result in a...

    Need accurate date info

Look up the Smith and Wesson Historical Foundation email ( don't have it in front of me at the moment) and send them a description and the serial number. They can give you an original shipping date and city to which it was shipped. They have done 3 for me lately, and there is no charge for it.

    32-20

The SWHF says the gun was made in 1922 and shipped in January of 1923 to a distributor in St Louis MO. If only it could speak...

    32-20

Thanks to all for the info. I love finding old guns in good condition, and like to make notes for the kids and grands so they can be better informed when they inherit my guns. I ordered a box of 50 rounds (pistol level, not rifle) yesterday, and with the added tax and shipping puts it into...

    32-20

New to me 32-20 Model of 1905 4th change. Serial number 112,xxx. It has 4 initials engraved on the top strap on the left side, which I can't make out with the font style used. Serial number dates it to the mid 1930s. I'm trying to attach images.
