    Hammer Bobbing...opinions, please.

I bobbed the hammer on an old Colt DS and got light strikes. Rather than install a heavier spring, I bought another hammer and found a hammer shroud. The ivories showed up at a local gun show.

    My First 1917, a Shooter

Refinished, great, no worries about the white glove treatment when at the range....I have a Colt New Service in .455 Webley that's a great shooter, and arsenal refinished.

    Suppressor Tax Elimination- Follow Up

I bought one earlier this year, a Rugged Obsidian .45. Plan to get a .223 version for my pistol-brace carbine but next year.

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

If I was not overloaded on 9mm's I would have an M9/92FS in my collection. Trained on it when it first was issued to USAF, on my way to Europe, and really liked it. Took a long detour into Sigs (the ones made in Germany), though that precluded me buying an M9.

    Aimpoints or Red Dots

I still use irons on range toys and field pieces, where conditions are more controlled and I can wear the right glasses. Defensive pieces are gradually tensioning to a red dot (or holographic sigh), where I can see and dot an entire target unobscured by Patridge-type sights. A little more...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

If the 320 is dropped from service - doubtful - the US ought to look at the new Ruger RXM. Extraordinarily well-thought-and-executed descendant of the G19. Be nice to have a US-made service weapon again.

    Another disappointing gun show

Last deal I got at a gun show was 1999 when the vendor sold me a mint 3.5" pre-27 for $250. He said "it's a model 19.' I asked, are you sure? He said yep, I know my Smiths. Who was I to argue?

California ammunition background checks declared unconstitutional by US appeals court

If the 9th in its entirety rules, ammo is back on the chopping block. Too bad Trump can't pack it...

    How old is this k22?

I had two and let them go...always regretted it so a few years ago I picked up a pre-war K-22 Outdoorsman, bit different configuration than the post-war guns like yours, but the marketing of the time said Smith would not let them out the door unless they could group I believe 1.5" at 50 yards...

    Snubby Kit Gun

I had a first year 4-digit, 4 inch round butt 1952 22/32. A friend on the Air Force Pistol Team laughed at it...until he shot it. "I can't believe it's so accurate!" Then I could not get him to stop pestering me to sell it. It went in trade with a few other things for a 2nd Gen Colt SAA .45 4...

    Found a Model 30 Today!

I found one in a Nebraska gun show in the early 80's, a prewar Regulation Police with a 4" barrel. That went into the glove box of my wife's VW Rabbit when she had to travel 30 miles up the NJ Turnpike every day into the sh*thole heart of Newark to finish her degree at Seton Hall. Given New...

    Sig P210

I bough a Danish milsurp M49 at the now closed Hahn (Germany) Rod and Gun Club in 1995. Stupidly sold it a few years after coming back to the US. When a boatload of P210's hit the surplus market a few years ago I bit the bullet and bought two, with holsters, and managed to find some spare mags...

    Surprise Gunbroker Win

Interesting, the name Thiokol. That is the company that manufactured the solid rocket motors for the Minuteman series of ICBMs. Coincidentally, I was a Minuteman II Missile Combat Crewmember at Whiteman AFB, 1977-1982....and carried a Model 15, 2" while on alert duty, and a 4" -15 while...

Trends You Simply Can't Stand...Feel Free To Vent Here

Marketing. Having said, i greatly appreciate the Rugged Obsidian .45 on my house Glock. With subsonic ammo I don't have to worry that shots fired indoors will cost me my hearing.
