WC's were not commonly carried and used in SD so I agree that most information is mostly anecdotal and not really scientifically studied. Now we are starting to get ballistic testing and such, but thats still a little different from real world data in volume, which wont be available unless...
I think it is a combination of cognitive dissonance and information bias. We all do it. The rest is probably just miscommunication.
For how long was it true that 32 was greatly underpowered, and really no one talked much about the difference in bullet shape/design. There is so much research and...
I enjoy the lectures, or presentations. Lots of great information by committed researchers. Hopefully those will get added to the archives in the members area. (HINT HINT)
Why not be a member and support the organization? its a great time to be had and a lot of people working hard to help add information and research to aid collectors, all brought together on the forums and the symposium.
I thought collecting by myself was fun, but I didnt know what i was...
That happened quite often when I was in. We had the A2 in the late 90's and you couldnt do anything with a group without someone slam-firing on accident when they thought it was empty. Amazing more people didnt get killed.
I'm glad you said that.
I can honestly say that it never crossed my mind with rifles. I dont hunt, but I'll carry it when I am out on the mountain, but never with a round in the chamber. It is possible I could run into trouble out there as well, just feels different than being in the city I...
Amen to that.
Agreed, survival is certainly an overall combination of multiple factors.
When I think though in the spirit of this specific question about whether or not to carry with a round in the chamber, I do know people who refuse because of a fear of 'something', and if some tragic event...
I cant tell if it is an opposition to carrying a round in the chamber or just semantics.
Any amount of bullets required for someone to become a "survivor" of a gun battle as opposed to a casualty is the exact right amount of bullets, in my very humble opinion. I respectfully submit for...

If you have one that you would like to discuss selling please contact me though...
I hadnt heard that before either, but its funny.
Modern pistols do carry a lot of rounds, I could see that not being a worry to someone. I sometimes carry older semi's, so yeah with only maybe 7 rounds available the Plus-1 is a big deal, and being a defensive carry firearm, could be way more...
another vote for chamber from mag, then replace with fully loaded mag.
Thats just how I was taught and how I have always done it. I cant figure any reason it would cause harm to the firearm or mag that way or cause any round feeding issues.
Some of the details provided in this thread make...
I didnt know they had 44 mag wadcutters... I'd like to see some tests with that
I am thinking we are not talking about the same rounds a lot of the time. Most people know wadcutters as low velocity, soft lead target rounds.
The ones I use (32 & 38) are rated 900fps and are Hard-Cast, so...
I picked up some really low powered super quiet 22 ammo to keep the garden safe and I saw them bounce off squirrels if I am more than 30 feet way. almost useless, but they are quiet!
