I finished machining a 41 slide to work on the 46. The slide was cheap and that way I don't have to modify the 46 barrels or buy 41 barrels. I will only use this gun occasionally. I have a 2010 vintage 41 to use "everyday". Sent a pm to xb40 about a proper slide.

It won't fit the 7 inch barrel, but the 5 inch barrel has the radius to fit from the factory. If I find an original 46 slide in the future I'm back in business. I hate to make such large irreversible changes to original 46 parts.

I will mill the 41 slide to match later issue 46 slides with a radius in that corner (instead of square) to eliminate the stress concentration. The later slides were much more robust.

Jeppo, yes, the circled are is correct. BMCM, Semper Paratus, I am positive it's a crack. Machining artifacts don't flex when you put pressure on them and don't show through to the inside. I only fired one mag to see if it would function. The later 46 slides were rounded in that corner to...

The crack absolutely goes all the way through, and is about the same the other side. Both sides are clearly visible on the inside as well, no need for magnaflux.

I'm not much of a photographer, but let's try these. Pic of gun and accessories minus box and documents. The slide cracks at the sharp corner in the center of the pic, kind of hard to see.
